Background & previous rounds

Background (previous rounds). ASI is a long-running annual survey of registered factories (Factories Act universe)—not a household NSS “round” like 61st/68th. MoSPI NADA’s ASI collection holds ~48 studies, including modern unit-level waves 2015–16 through 2023–24 (e.g. 2018–19 catalog/150 … 2022–23 /205, 2023–24 /256) and older summary/unit releases back into the 1980s–1990s (e.g. 1986–87 through early 1990s summary files). Block schedules cover identification, assets, employment, inputs/outputs. Cross-year work needs multipliers, status-of-unit, and industrial classification (e.g. NIC-2008). Pair with ASUSE for the unincorporated sector.
